Chevening Parish Council

A thank you to Andy Clark

2nd December 2020

A thank you to Andy Clark

As you may be aware, sadly Andy Clark has recently resigned his position as Chairman and Councillor of Chevening Parish Council. He will be greatly missed by all his friends on the Council and Parishioners alike.

Andy joined the Council in June 2014 and was Chairman from 2016 to October of this year. His tireless dedication to the service of this Parish has been witnessed by all. His duties became even more onerous with the onset of the Covid-19 emergency and the challenges that came with it. Making sure the vulnerable were cared for, public spaces were monitored and dealing with unruly disruptive crowds around the lake to name just a few. His leadership was exemplary under sometimes extremely trying circumstances, he marshalled his fellow Councillors in their weekly meetings during the height of the pandemic and liaised with the wonderful volunteers who rose magnificently to the challenges of caring for the vulnerable.

Andy has not only served the Parish; he is both the Safeguarding & welfare Officer and Covid-19 Officer at Sevenoaks RFC; it is through his efforts that literally hundreds of our youngsters can pursue their chosen sport in a secure environment and that all the members and guests of the club can be Covid confident. The time and effort he has invested in these and other charitable causes has been magnificent, and we wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to him.

The Parish Council will continue to serve its Parishioners. We hope to build on the wonderful legacy Andy has left behind.

Cllr Nigel Williams.

Chairman. The Chevening Parish Council.

29th of November 2020.
