School Bus services - update from Nick Chard

The position in respect of bus service alterations is changing frequently from the perspective of both additional services being withdrawn or reduced by operators but also, and more positively, where KCC continues to work with operators to find solutions where the right conditions prevail. These are shown in red text on the attached service change summary.

In addition to trying to find solutions, KCC has committed to being a single source of information for such changes and this summary of all known changes and alternative options for passengers where they exist is shown and is being updated on kent.gov.

The volume of change at the moment is such that KCC expects to be updating this service summary every few days across the next few weeks.

The uncertainty of home to school travel for next term is very unsettling, I don’t underestimate the added stress and anxiety it is causing. I know that colleagues are trying to resolve the provision of school transport in very difficult circumstances. I will do what I can to stand up for residents in Sevenoaks West.
