Update on the Chevening Parkland Scheme
16th December 2024
An update on Chevening Parkland from the Managing Agents for the Estate
Dear All
I hope you are all well and I thought it would be helpful to provide an update before we go into the Christmas break.
As you will have seen, there has been a lot of work undertaken to the land immediately south of Turvins Farm, primarily enabling works to allow the project to start in full. These enabling works included stripping back topsoil, the creation of drain runs and the installation of a temporary access road from the existing gateway to the north east of the site. This temporary access road will now enable material to be brought onto site and the levels to be built up so that the new access off the public road can be created. As soon as that new access is in place the temporary road and the use of the existing gateway will cease.
The operation of the site is under the CLAIRE protocols which requires that all materials brought onto the site to create the earthwork have to be certified at source and of a quality and type that is appropriate for use on our sites. This means that a selection of source sites has to be undertaken very carefully, and I am pleased to report that a first site has been found and the material from that site will start to be delivered around mid-January.
Once we have an exact date I will let you know.
In the meantime, I wish you all a Happy Christmas.
