Update on the Chevening Parkland Scheme

4th March 2025

Update on Chevening Parkland from the Estate’s Managing Agents:-

I trust that you are all well and enjoying this period of sunshine and dry weather. As you can appreciate this weather is of great relief to us in terms of working on the Parkland Enhancement Scheme as it is so much easier moving materials around.

As you are aware the first loads of imported material have started to arrive, but the frequency of delivery is not yet very reliable with two source sites having technical difficulties at their end. Notwithstanding this there has been a lot of interest in what the site can offer and we look forward to the months ahead when the delivery of material will become more consistent and plentiful enabling real progress to be seen.

In terms of onsite activity you may have seen that the first element of landscaping work has been started on the inside of the corner opposite the entrance to Turvins Farm. A drainage ditch has been dug at the foot of the bank and the bank has now been planted with the first sections of relocated hedge trees. We hope that in the next few months you will see the relocated trees starting to come into leaf and establish themselves on the bank.
